I am a Textile Designer and Artist living in New York. After living in the San Francisco Bay Area for a decade, I moved here to work in Home Fashions, which shifted my focus from Art to Design. I am a Textile enthusiast with a love of prints, wovens, embroideries, texture, and color. I am inspired by textiles from all of the world and have researched traditional Pre Colombian weaving in Mexico, Central and South America.

As an Artist, I weave plastics and other reclaimed materials into something I hope is both interesting and beautiful.  This synthetic material surrounds us everywhere and it is a byproduct of oil that will never go away.  As my bags of collected plastics grow around me, it feels like my personal duty to transform these materials through the artistic process instead of letting them end up in a landfill.  I find the shiny surface of the woven plastics seductive yet in a disturbing way that is reminiscent of the glimmer and flashiness of new packaging.
